Landlord Troubles
Randy Meucke is a dentist. He owned Northgate Station Comprehensive Dentistry, a dental practice located in Northgate Station. Randy is married to Lana, who worked with Randy at the dental practice.
Randy runs Black Crow Ventures, which owns Northgate Station, and Lana helps Randy run Black Crow Ventures.
Lucky Hare & Night Train Pizza is a dual-concept restaurant that opened in Northgate Station in 2024. It became a favorite neighborhood spot for people who live in Big Canoe and the Marble Hill area.
When Lucky Hare & Night Train Pizza signed the lease with Black Crow Ventures, Black Crow Ventures agreed that they would keep the building and all of its systems in good working order.
Black Crow Ventures also promised they would not allow any new restaurant, bar, or retail food stores to open in the plaza.
Having exclusivity in the lease protected Lucky Hare's investment without hurting any of the existing businesses in the plaza.
It also protected our community from a chain restaurant moving in and undercutting Lucky Hare's business.
Randy and Lana have eaten at Lucky Hare & Night Train Pizza many times.
Unfortunately, Black Crow Ventures didn't maintain the building, so Lucky Hare & Night Train Pizza had to pay to fix all the things that kept breaking just so they could stay open.
The Lucky Hare guys repeatedly asked Randy to fix all the things that kept breaking in the building, like he promised to do. He ignored them.
More than a year after Lucky Hare & Night Train Pizza opened, Black Crow Ventures violated their lease.
It leased the adjacent space to Myth & Legend, a chain with multiple locations, that opened a coffee shop selling sandwiches and other food.
Myth & Legend began building out the space. Being right next door, Lucky Hare & Night Train Pizza noticed.
The Lucky Hare guys went to Randy and asked him to honor the lease he signed with them. Randy ignored them.
Lucky Hare & Night Train Pizza tried to talk to Myth & Legend about this problem, but they were rebuffed.
After 4 months of being ignored by Black Crow Ventures and Myth & Legend, Lucky Hare & Night Train Pizza filed a complaint asking the court to make Black Crow Ventures honor their lease.
Randy had Black Crow Ventures hire an attorney to fight.
Myth & Legend opened, violating Lucky Hare & Night Train Pizza's lease.
Even though Lucky Hare & Night Train Pizza did nothing wrong, Black Crow Ventures tried to evict them.
Lucky Hare & Night Train Pizza spoke with their attorney about the situation.
Black Crow Ventures has attempted to deny, delay, and discredit Lucky Hare & Night Train Pizza's claims.
On January 16th, 2026, the sprinkler system over Lucky Hare & Night Train Pizza's main dining room failed, flooding the restaurant and forcing it to close.
Randy & Lana claimed it was Lucky Hare & Night Train Pizza's fault. But the lease says Black Crow Ventures is responsible for maintaining the sprinkler system, which hadn't been maintained or serviced since before Lucky Hare & Night Train Pizza moved in.
Black Crow Ventures was very slow to repair the water damage in the restaurant, keeping Lucky Hare & Night Train Pizza closed for almost three months.
Meanwhile, Black Crow Ventures continued to create more legal problems and bills for Lucky Hare & Night Train Pizza. The Lucky Hare guys were trying to reopen the restaurant and Black Crow Ventures wasn't helping.
Black Crow Ventures is working hard to make things difficult for Lucky Hare & Night Train Pizza.
Lucky Hare & Night Train Pizza have finally reopened, but their legal bills continue to pile up because of Black Crow Ventures.
